62 year old grandpa sent to Luzira for defiling and infecting his three granddaughters with HIV
Court in Kampala has remanded a 62-year-old grandpa to Luzira government prison for defiling his three granddaughters and infecting them with HIV/ AIDs.
Muhammuddu Iddi Zingo alias Taata Medi appeared before Kampala Capital City Hall Court Grade One Magistrate Jane Tibagozenka for plea taking. The charges were read to him and was denied bail on grounds that court doesn’t have the jurisdiction to grant him bail.
The Court has heard that between March 2020 and 2022, Zingo a resident of Namuli zone in Bukoto Kampala Central unlawfully performed sexual acts with the three girls well knowing that he is HIV positive.

Zingo who is alleged to have defiled and infected the minors aged three, six and nine with HIV.
Zingo has been remanded until April 26th 2023 as investigations continue.
Speaking to our reporter Rashidah Nakaayi in the court cells, Zingo denied the allegations leveled against him saying he was shocked at the accusations.
“I swear on my mother’s grave, I don’t understand what is going on, the whole world is pointing cameras at me for something I didn’t do and know nothing about. If it is true, why would something happen over a long period of time and children report , yet no action is taken? Let them bring evidence to prove I did it and even take the children to hospital to prove if my big thing entered them,” he said
The penal Code Act provides for a maximum sentence of death on charges of aggravated defilement.
