Six nabbed in possession of local bombs devices in Wakiso
The Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire has revealed that six suspects have been implicated in acts of terrorism for assembling Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
He identifies the suspects as Hamidu Ssekidde, Muhammad Kalyango, Abdul Katumba, Arafat Ssali, Emmanuel Assimwe, and Hamihud Muyonde.
Owoyesigyire says the suspects were found in possession of various items used in the manufacture of the devices such as petrol, dynamites, candle wicks, matchboxes, blasting caps, electronic detonators, and non-electric safety fuses among others.
He says the suspects are currently being interrogated at the Criminal Investigations Department(CID) as investigations continue. By press time security operatives were still scratching the area and carrying out various interrogations.

In 2021, several people died in twin bomb blasts at Parliament Avenue and the Kampala Central Police Station (CPS) after suicide bombers detonated explosive devices
Isis claimed responsibility for the blasts, in a statement on its Telegram channels however, police linked the incidents to ADF rebel attacks.
Prior to that, one person was killed and at least seven others wounded after at IED exploded at a restaurant in a suburb of Kampala on 23 October. Another explosion two days later on a passenger bus killed only the suicide bomber.
