A chilling wave of fear has gripped Bubogo Cell in Kamuli District after a 35-year-old woman, identified as Kanene Alice, was found murdered under mysterious and brutal circumstances.
Her naked, wounded body was discovered dumped by the roadside this morning, sparking a manhunt for her alleged lover-turned-suspect.
According to shocked locals, the lifeless body of Kanene was discovered around 7:00 am after the area chairman received alarming reports and rushed to the scene with police. What they found sent shivers down their spines , Kanene’s body was lying cold, with visible injuries, suspected to have been inflicted by a blunt object. The scene was immediately cordoned off as investigators began piecing together the last moments of her life.
Disturbingly, it has emerged that Kanene had recently received a series of threatening calls from one Ronald Kalevu, a man she had been in an on-and-off intimate relationship with, marked by deep-rooted misunderstandings. Residents now suspect that these warnings may have foreshadowed her tragic end.
Police are now hot on the trail of Kalevu, who has since vanished. Authorities believe he could provide crucial information regarding Kanene’s final hours.
“We urge the public to assist us with any leads about Ronald Kalevu’s whereabouts. He’s wanted to aid our ongoing investigations,” said ASP Micheal Kasadha, the Busoga North Regional Police spokesperson.
