It’s not-so-peaceful in Uganda’s music circles this week, as rising star Kapeke has fired lyrical shots at Ava Peace, accusing her of letting friendship trump talent after she left him off her list of top five artistes in the country!

The drama kicked off when Ava Peace boldly placed herself at the number one spot — as if modesty was out of season. Following herself, she named Jowy Landa, Pretty Banks, Winnie Nwagi, Dax Vibez, and Elijah Kitaka as Uganda’s music elite right now.
But Kapeke wasn’t buying it.
“Ava Peace was naming her shisha buddies. Those are the people she smokes shisha with — not top artistes!” Kapeke scoffed, throwing flavoured shade in all directions.
According to Kapeke, Ava didn’t just forget him — she fumbled the whole assignment.
But he wasn’t done.

In true main character energy, Kapeke dropped his own power ranking, complete with a self-crowning moment.
“I’ll start with myself — Kapeke. Ava Peace is my friend, though she left me out. Dax Vibez is doing well, Elijah Kitaka too, and Joshua Baraka — he sings in English, but I understand him,” he added with a wink.
Kapeke claims his list is based on chart-toppers, not chacha circles, and doubled down on the fact that Uganda’s music scene is thriving, thanks to a bold new wave of young talent — including, of course, himself.
The moral of the story? In Uganda’s music industry, talent may take you far… but apparently, so can shisha.
