Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango has confirmed that a viral video showing a man violently attacking patrons at a local bar was not a real crime incident but rather a poorly executed comedy skit.
According to Onyango, the dramatized scene was orchestrated by Congolese national Tukosi Naguli, in collaboration with a popular TikToker. The duo reportedly staged the act without notifying the other bar customers, sparking panic and public outrage when the video surfaced online.
“The individuals involved did not inform anyone at the venue, including customers, that this was staged content. This was reckless and irresponsible,” Onyango said.
Police have since arrested the two and charged them with being armed in public, as the skit featured what appeared to be a weapon.
Police have cautioned content creators against such unsanctioned stunts, warning that they can cause unnecessary alarm and lead to legal consequences.
