Music legend Jose Chameleone has finally spoken out about the storm surrounding his much-publicized split from wife Daniella Atim — and his message is clear: his children come first.

The Valu Valu hitmaker, who has been locked in a protracted legal battle with Daniella over property and custody issues, told fans and critics alike that the tug-of-war is not about personal greed but the future of his family.

“The things we are fighting for are for the children, not ours,” Chameleone revealed. “Even the children will leave them behind and others will occupy them. People should stop crafting problems where there are none.”

The singer went on to compare the process to signing his last will while still alive, describing the proceedings as emotionally draining but necessary.

Despite the high stakes, the Leone Island boss insists he is not shaken:

“Everything on earth is vanity. I’m not weighed down by this process. My peace is intact.”

Family at the Center of It All

Chameleone, real name Joseph Mayanja, and Daniella, who has been living in the United States with their five children, have had a rocky relationship for years. Their marriage, once admired as one of Uganda’s celebrity fairy tales, has been marked by public spats, separations, and reconciliations.

Insiders claim Daniella has pushed for the divorce after years of alleged domestic disputes, while Chameleone has continually tried to paint a picture of unity for the sake of their children.

What’s at Stake?

Sources close to the family say the contested wealth includes real estate properties in Kampala, high-end cars, and royalties from Chameleone’s two-decade-long music career. But the singer insists the assets don’t belong to him or Daniella alone:

“All my wealth belongs to my children. I’ve worked for them, not for myself,” he stressed.

Still the People’s Star

Even in the middle of personal turmoil, Chameleone remains focused on his music and legacy. He has hinted at new projects and is determined not to let the divorce overshadow his status as one of Africa’s biggest music exports.

Fans have flooded his social media with words of encouragement, praising him for prioritizing family over fortune.

As the divorce proceedings continue, one thing is clear: for Chameleone, the fight isn’t about losing Daniella — it’s about securing the future of his kids.
