Award-winning singer and music executive Eddy Kenzo recently revealed the five tracks he believes have most significantly shaped his career.

Appearing on NTV Kenya, Kenzo admitted that selecting just five standout tracks from his expansive catalog was a tough call. Still, he managed to narrow it down to titles that he feels truly define his musical journey.

The Chosen Five

Kenzo’s definitive list includes:
• “Stamina” – Cited as the track that first established him as a household name in Uganda.
• “Sitya Loss” – His global breakthrough, this song gained international acclaim thanks to the viral dance video featuring the Ghetto Kids.
• “Weekend”, “Tweyagale”, and “Maria Roza” – These rounds out the list, marking different milestones of his career.

What Makes Each Song Special
Stamina (2010): This early single was released at a pivotal time in Kenzo’s career. It not only helped him win the Best New Artist at the Pearl of Africa Music Awards in 2011, but also anchored his emerging popularity.
Sitya Loss (2014): The music video, showcasing the Ghetto Kids dancing to the tune, went viral across social media platforms, accelerating Kenzo’s ascent internationally. The song earned nominations at the Channel O Music Video Awards and won him the BET Viewer’s Choice Best New International Artist award in 2015.
Weekend, Tweyagale, Maria Roza: While these tracks are lesser-documented in news sources, their inclusion alongside Kenzo’s career-defining hits suggests they hold personal or regional significance for the artist and his fanbase.

A Stage Fit for a Star

Kenzo’s recent visit to Nairobi, Kenya, was highlighted by his performance at the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) PAMOJA 2024 closing ceremony on 30 August 2025 at Kasarani Stadium. The event celebrated East African culture through a star-studded line-up that included Kenzo, Tanzanian sensation Zuchu, and Kenya’s own Savara of Sauti Sol fame.
