In a twist that could rival the plot of a ‘Ugawood’ blockbuster, Sevo left jaws dropping at Speke Resort Munyonyo on Saturday after Eddy Kenzo, is in fact the son of the late NRA war hero, Eriya Mwine, better known to his comrades as Chef Ali.

The revelation, dropped casually during the launch of Kenzo’s “Yoweri” album, sent shockwaves through the audience, with gasps, whispers, and frantic phone calls rippling through the glamorous crowd.

“I am very happy with the honesty of Eddy Kenzo because the money we gave him, he used it,” Museveni said with a smile before pivoting to what many are calling the bombshell of the decade.

“Eddy Kenzo is the son of a soldier,” the President announced, pointing directly at the visibly startled singer. “Did you tell them, or you wanted to keep it a secret? Where are the other children of Chief Ali? Stand up. Even they look alike.”

Within seconds, the ballroom was buzzing. Guests craned their necks to catch a glimpse of Kenzo’s reaction, while others whispered fiercely, debating whether Uganda’s biggest music export had just been unmasked as the son of a national war legend.

For years, Kenzo, born Edrisah Musuuza, has told his rags-to-riches tale of growing up an orphan, surviving on the streets, and clawing his way into the music spotlight. Now, this dramatic revelation paints a completely different picture: that the “Sitya Loss” hitmaker is not just a self-made star but also the heir to a powerful military legacy.

Chef Ali, who once held the post of Chief of Defence Forces, was a towering figure in Uganda’s military history. His name has now resurfaced, not through battlefields or command posts, but through the Grammy-nominated voice of his son.

Social media exploded within minutes of Museveni’s speech.

Some fans expressed shock: “We thought Kenzo came from nothing. Now we learn he comes from greatness. What else don’t we know?” Others saw it as a poetic connection between Uganda’s revolutionary past and its modern cultural renaissance.

Meanwhile, Kenzo was quick to confirm whatever Sevo said in a detailed presser, held at his Big Talent offices, in Makindye.
