Bobi Wine and eleven co-accused in the Arua election saga have been handed their freedom after Gulu High Court granted them bail.
Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi (alias Bobi Wine) and 32 others appeared before Gulu High Court for their respective bail applications.
Gulu Resident judge Stephen Mubiru granted non cash bail of UgX.5M for the 11 suspects each and UgX.10M for the sureties each as session for the other suspects goes on in court.
Arua MP Kassaino Wadri has been granted bail but he is barred from going to his constituency Arua for the next three months. Wadri must seek permission from Court if he is to set foot there.
The suspects are implicated in the attack on the President’s convoy two days before the August 15 polls in Arua.
The accused are seeking bail in exercise of, ‘The right to bail as a fundamental right guaranteed by Article 23 (6) of the 1995 Constitution of the Republic of Uganda.
