Police chief is come out fighting over the current threats to the force by members of the public.
Okoth Ochola in a press release to the media Friday, noted that in the ongoing demonstrations, members of the public are targeting his men.
Ochola stated: “The Uganda Police force notes with great concern the increasing levels of provocation, molestation, harassment and obstruction, disobedience of lawful orders, intimidation and open attacks to its officers in the course of executing their lawful duties by certain members of the public.”
The police chief also turned guns to his offices when he said: “In the same vein, I caution all police officers to desist from excessive use of force and should respect human rights as guaranteed by the constitution.”
