ASP Muhammad Kirumira and his wife have been brutally gunned down by unknown people near his home at Bulenga in Wakiso District.
Reports reveal Kirumira and his wife Mariam Kirumira were shot dead by the killers in Bulenga as they returned home.
He was the DPC Old Kampala and Buyende before he was recommended for demotion by the Police Disciplinary Committee.
Sources at the crime scene say he was killed in a vehicle number UAJ 228V.
Kirumira whose home was earlier this year stormed and was arrested amid protest and charged for abuse of office.
Police is yet to make an official statement on the dreadful development.
