The opposition Democratic Party has pulled out of the much anticipated national dialogue due in November, saying the party is not satisfied with the way the dialogue is being organized.

Recently the opposition came up with a common position of seven points which they want followed before the dialogue can go on.

However, the party President, Norbert Mao says the current sabotage of opposition events by the police and the torture of Ugandans,  the latest being of Yusuf Kawooya , is a sign that government is not willing to listen to the views of the opposition.

He says they have already written to the inter religious council notifying them about their decision.

Mao has further poked holes in President Yoweri Museveni’s security guidelines on how to manage rioters and suspects He said president Museveni has continuously ignored Ugandans and only minds about the happiness of investors and foreigners.

Mao says it has was not necessary for the president to issue guidelines to the security agencies yet they have laws governing their work.

He adds that Uganda has two major issues that are affecting its national security among them unemployment and Museveni’s over stay in power.

In his guidelines to the various security agencies, the president advised them to use water cannons when dispersing rioters and use live bullets only when the situation runs out of hand.
