Police in Rubanda district is investigating circumstances under which a 26 year old man was allegedly murdered by a mob for stealing chicken.
It’s alleged that One Tumuhimbise Paka of Rwarujongo village Igomanda parish Hamurwa sub-county, Rubanda district was lynched at around 02:00 am last night.
This was after he stole chicken from the neighboring village of Kyokyezo in Nyamweru sub-county at the home of William Bagambira . Bagambira is said to have ran after him towards his home , attracting the attention of other residents who lynched him near a water stream in Rwarujongo.
Police was notified, visited the scene and found two dead hens in a sack besides his body. Postmortem was done and the body handed to relatives for decent burial.
