The General Court Martial at Makindye has ordered jailed Boda-Boda 2010 Patron Abudallah Kitatta  to defend  himself on charges of unlawful possession of firearms ,  ammunition and Millitary attire. He should therefore prepare his defence by 7th/January/2019.

The 7 Member Court led by Lt. Gen Andrew Gutti has unanimously ruled that  Kitatta and nine  of his co-suspects have a case to answer and must offer an explanation  to the Nation on how they acquired the  guns , bullets  and the military uniforms .

The Court  ruled that it had addressed its mind on the law and evidence of the 4 Prosecution Witnesses and that it is satisfied that Prosecution has made out a case  against Kitatta who was  found in possession of a pistol in a hotel room at Wakaliga ,a Kampala suburb, adding that Kitatta also owned a motor vehicle Reg. UAK 135B in which an SMG riffle with  live ammunition was found.

However, the same court has acquitted 3 of Kitatta’s Co. accused persons. After the court ruling ; Kitatta and  nine others asked court for more time to discuss with their lawyers on which option to use while defending themselves.

The Group also says they have witnesses to call in their defence plus footage from the surveillance camera at Vine Hotel in Wakaliga where Prosecution claims to have arrested Kitatta from with a golden pistol.

Kitatta and his group have been sent back on remanded at Makindye Millitary barracks and Luzira prison respectively until 7th/January/2019.
