Dr Diana Atwine faced the wrath of legislators when she was sent to the Criminal Investigations Department for grilling after failing to explain the how and whereabouts of over six billions shillings allocated to her office.

Dr Atwine appeared before the Parliamentary Accounts Committee (PAC) for questioning over auditor general’s report of 2016, 2017 and 2018.

The permanent secretary ministry of health failed to account for the 6.2Billion Shillings when legislators summoned her for grilling on Thursday morning.

Auditor general’s report indicates 2.2Billion Shillings was allocated to renovate Kayunga Hospital, and pay salaries of ministry of health staff.

The committee chaired by Phillip Polly Okin Ojara in anger through demanded Dr Atwine be detained at CID chief Ronald Segawa’s office in Parliament for grilling.

Legislators returned after the break with no success as the ministry of health chief and her colleagues were still locked in Segawa’s office.
