FUFA has revealed a list of coaches who will compete for the coach of the year award in the FUFA Awards scheduled to take place on Saturday 14th December in Munyonyo.

The men’s football category is headlined by KCCA’s Mike Hillary Mutebi who won the same accolade last year.

Mutebi won the league with KCCA but will face stiff competition from Shafiq Bisaso who guided Proline fc to their historical double.

Proline won the FUFA Big league and the Stanbic Uganda Cup under the guidance of Bisaso who is currently in Sweden furthering his studies as a coach.

Uganda Cranes assistant coach Abdallah Mubiru is the third nominee on account of guiding the national team to a fifth straight CHAN tournament qualification.

For the first time in the awards, there is recognition for the coach of the year in women’s football category.

Ayub Khalifa, Oliver Mbekeka and Fred Ndawula are the nominees for the aforementioned accolade.

Ayub notably guided the U-17 national girls team to a COSAFA championship in Mauritius in September.

Ndawula is a coach of Makerere university (She Mak) who defied odds to win the FUFA women’s cup.

Mbekeka, formerly at Lady Doves guided th Nasi do outfit to a double final in the FUFA women elite league and the the women’s cup but unfortunately lost both of them to UCU Lady Cardinals and She Mak respectively.

In another category revealed, youngsters Sadat Anaku, Gavin Kizito Mugweri and Bright Stars’ Davis Ssekajja will compete for the upcoming talent award.
