Ugandan Film, Audio Production House & Record Label, Swangz Avenue is fixing to celebrate 10 years in the business; with an all-star concert slated for 31st August in the Lugogo Cricket Oval .

Swangz is known for having nurtured artists like Rabadaba, Keko, GNL Zamba, Mun G, Vampino, Young Zee and Irene Ntale. Currently, Vinka The Boss Manjah, Julio Zulanda and Winnie Nwagi are signed to the label.

According to a source that preferred anonymity, the Muswangali(their initial home) folks have reportedly sealed a deal with Jamaican Reggae Icon, Tarrus Riley, who was disappointed in the twilight of last year by Red Fog and Bolt Agency. Red Fog had promised to bring Tarrus Riley for a concert in Uganda, but broke the heart of the singer and those of his Ugandan fans a great deal.

“It’s amazing how quickly we as black brothers and sisters tend to speak badly of each other without getting all the facts, I have waited my entire career and it was like a dream come true to play in Kampala, Uganda.

My team has held this date for over three months only to receive an email from the promoters of the event two days ago which stated “Unfortunately, due to events beyond my control, our exclusive sponsor for the event, notified me only last week that they would not be fulfilling their contractual obligations… Due to this situation I am asking that we reschedule for a time when I am able to generate capital and secure a diversified sponsor base to make the concert happen.” Tarrus wrote; clearing the air about rumours that were making rounds.

To crown it, Tarrus added,
“My team and I are VERY disappointed but this is no fault of mine. #getthefacts #uganda”

We are not sure whether the “Just The Way You Are” Hitmaker will share a stage with our Reggae Legend Maddox Ssematimba as it was planned to be with Red Fog, but one thing we can’t doubt is that he will give every penny of yours its deserved worth.
