President Yoweri Museveni has told the new police leadership it is up to them to fish out criminals after he removed weevils from the force.
President Museveni this week sacked Generals Kale Kayihura and Henry Tumukunde and replaced them with Okoth Ochola and Gen. Elly Tumwine in a mini reshuffle.

The President who was the chief guest at the International Women’s Day celebrations in Mityana said: “I have cleaned the police force and now is the time for those in charge to go after criminals that killed women in Entebbe and Wakiso.”

He said: “We had captured the criminals but police had been infested by weevils. Those who were murdering women in Entebbe are in prison. The ones I don’t know yet are the ones who murdered Kagezi, the Muslim clerics and Kaweesi.”

President Museveni on the issue of crime, added: “We concentrated on defeating terrorists in the bush. No one should worry that Uganda is in any kind trouble. But we now have criminals and murderers in town, it’s becoming a problem we have to tackle.”
