Police have arrested five thugs accused of storming a Man’s house and butchering him to death.
The deceased identified as Kabeni a 35year old, Munyarwanda and resident of Gakoro vill, Sooko parish.
The Five suspected thugs whose names were withheld not to jeopardize investigations have been arrested to assist in inquiries.
Police arrested the suspects after Buregeya Benon C/man L c1 Gakoro village in sooko parish Muramba s/county in Kisoro district reported the incident.
It is alleged that on 1/1/2020 at around 02;50 hrs, unknown thugs terrorized the area residents and started pelting stones on their houses before breaking into the house of kabeni.
They pulled him out of the house and started butchering him with the panga.
Another resident identified as Bayavuga who was being equally attacked made an alarm that attracted neighbors including the chairman L c1. Buregeya.
The thugs took off leaving the victim for dead.
The victim was rushed to the to kisoro hospital by the Landlord where he was later pronounced dead.
The body of the deceased was rushed to kisoro hospital for postmortem. Inquiries at hand. The motive is not yet established.
