Police in Makindye division, Kampala has in custody one male suspect on allegations of the Kidnap and subsequent murder of an eight-year-old girl.
Eight-year-old girl, Dylan Kirabo, now deceased was reportedly kidnapped and strangled by unknown people on Thursday last week. Her body was later dumped at an incomplete building in Luwafu Makindye Division, over the weekend.
Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire has identified the suspect as Mutyaba Banda, a resident of the Sendagala zone, the same area where Kirabo’s body was found.
Hakim Sibukyu father to the deceased says that his daughter was sent to buy spices at a shop about 20 meters from her grandmother’s home.
He says they realized she was missing at 2 p.m on Thursday and immediately reported her disappearance at Makindye police who started an immediate search for the deceased.
Owoyesigyire said that they are also relying on Closed Circuit Television –CCTV cameras from nearby residences to identify Kirabo’s killers including a man and woman who were sighted at the scene, hours before the body was recovered.
