Peter Simpson is a Guinness master brewer, based at the St James’ Gate Brewery in Dublin, the home of Guinness.

He has been working with the local brewing team to develop a brand new stout – Guinness Smooth, working closely with the local brewing team here in Uganda to develop the liquid and make sure that we have a truly unique product that is perfect for everyone to enjoy when out to catch up with friends.

Guinness Smooth is brewed using only the finest natural ingredients, many of which are sourced locally.

With the coffee and rich notes from the roasted barley marrying with sweet malt and a fruity, butterscotch flavour from the brewing process.

Simpson joined St. James’s Gates in 2007 with his passion and experience in brewing beer already developed long before that. While growing up, he watched his father brew homemade beer crafted from natural remedies and traditional techniques, a factor that shaped his passion and gave him excellent training to be part of the Brewers Project.

After joining St. James’s Gate Brewery, he became part of the Guinness “Brewers Project” an initiative that encourages, promotes innovation and shapes a pool of talented team of expert brewers globally by licensing them to explore new recipes and working together to draw inspiration products that meet customer tastes and preferences.
On his legacy, Simpson sees himself right smack in the middle of Guinness’s own legacy in the next 100 years and hopes to keep true to the Guinness brand’s DNA.

Long after retirement, Simpson wants to be remembered for influencing a change of people’s perception of beer, how and when they enjoy it and to shape the beer culture wherever he visits.
This Saturday, Peter, will be joining Ugandans at the launch of the Guinness Smooth, a new distinctive beer with a perfect balance of a bitter & sweet taste to give Guinness lovers a smoother and more refreshing taste.
