The Inspector-General of Police Martin Okoth Ochola has thrown out a Police Constable from the police force over alcoholism and violence.

Constable Nathan Kanyesige was portrayed in a video clip that went viral very drunk to the extent of destroying documents by tearing them at his work station in Butambala district.

Last week IGP Ochola, last week directed that the Police Court chaired by Senior Commissioner Charles Birungi try Constable Kanyesige.

The result was a guilty verdict that ended in the conviction and dismissal of the police officer from the force.

According to Police mouthpiece Fred Enanga the Police Court charged Kanyesige with irregular conduct contrary to provisions of the Police Act.

Enanga says Kanyesige’s conduct was out of order and tainted police image.

Enanga said Ochola is using Kanyesige’s case as an exhibit to show that all officers against engaging in acts that contravene the conduct of the institution they serve will be forced to leave.
