Police in Mayuge district has arrested a ruthless mother for dumping her 2-year-old baby in a pit latrine.
Joyce Namuwenge 29 carried her 2year old Namono Gloria and dumped her in the pit latrine at Bwago village before fleeing to the next village.
Police spokesperson Fred Enanga described the act performed by the woman as sheer evil.
According to Enanga, the body of the deceased was discovered by an area resident who attempted to use the pit latrine six days after the incident and realized a strong stench of a decomposing emanating from the pit latrine
She immediately alerted the police who retrieved the body and started a hunt for Namuwenge who has since been arrested and detained.
Enanga says Namuwenge has been charged with murder.
