Singer Bebe cool on Tuesday afternoon performed a heroic act when he visited Central police station CPS Kampala and negotiated the release of the 11 suspects that were arrested on Monday for pelting urine-filled bottles and stones at him.

On Saturday during the boom party concert organized by fellow musician Cindy Sanyu, a group of revelers littered the wide stage when they pelted stones and bottles, some bottles containing a urine-like substance inside them at the singer Bebe cool while he performed on stage.

Despite the naughty act by a section of revelers, the singer did not lay his guard down as he continued with his performance.

This didn’t go down well with the singers’ supporters who took to social media to criticize the police for not getting involved when the incident happened.

Most notable of all being the First son Lt. Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who on his tweeter account, criticized the Police for not doing enough to protect the singer during concerts.

In his tweet, the General blamed police and bouncers for allowing what he called hooligans to hurl bottles at one of Uganda’s greatest artists.

Kampala Metropolitan Police, however, reacted on Monday morning when they apprehended 11 suspects charged with

Police spokesperson, Fred Enanga said on Monday morning while addressing journalists that police managed to apprehend eleven suspects and locked up in police cells at CPS pending their appearance in court.

Enanga said out of the 11 suspects, 5 entered the event with plastic bottles that were meant to target the singer although he was hesitant to point out the motive behind the act.

On Tuesday afternoon Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirmed the singers’ visit and consequently the release of the 11 suspects.

Onyango says the singer Bebe cool negotiated with police on grounds that the suspects were innocent and instead being misled by a group of activists that he declined to mention.
