The speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has on Thursday issued guidelines to be followed for the next 32 days so as to avoid the spread of Corona Virus.

This follows yesterday’s directive by the head of state on standard operating procedures -SOPs for people in workplaces and other concentrated

“The next points of mass concentrations are the non-agricultural workplaces: factories, hotels, large plantations, markets, taxi-parks, etc”Museveni.

These should continue functioning but with SOPs (StandardOperating Procedures) put out by the Ministry of Health.

Museveni noted that these procedures would include: compulsory hand-washing by all persons who enter or exit those workplaces, anybody with symptoms of sickness should not be allowed access for any reason, by the employers installing temperature monitors.

He further noted that the Ministry will publish the detailed SOPs as part of the Statutory Instrument In line with the above requirements, the speaker has proceeded with a number of measures, among the guidelines include;

●All School visits to Parliament are banned.

●Ministers appearing before Parliament must come with only 4 people.

●The chambers to be vacated, MPs to debate from The Conference Hall

● Temperature guards to at Parliament Entrances.

●Parliamentary Staff to work from home unless under impossible circumstances.

●Interns and Personal Assistants to MPs barred from accessing the house.

●Sanitizers must be put in the lifts.

●Deliveries to be received from the main entrance.
