The father, to a seven-year-old boy that was electrocuted in Sironko district on Easter Sunday at Gadigadi village Busati parish in Bukise Sub County is demanding to be compensated for the death of his son resulting from an alleged illegal power connection.
Samuel Gizamba, a resident of the area, reportedly says the boy was fried by electricity after he accidentally touched a charged barbed wire fence being used to tap power from the nearby electricity pole to Salalila police post.
Now the deceased’s father, Samuel Makoba wants the government to compensate him for the ill-fated expedition that claimed his Sons life.
The area LC I Chairperson, Tom Wamakuyu, faults Salalila police post for using power illegally for the past five years.
However Alfred Bagenda the Sironko District Police Commander has not ruled out an investigation into the dead boy but denies claims of using power illegally.
Bagenda clarifies that they have connected power legally and have been paying their subscription.
Wamakuyu explains that the post has a legitimate ‘Yaka’ power connection but officers usually tap to the illegal connection when their Yaka token expires.
