Kampala Metropolitan Police has nabbed and detained 480 people for defying the COVID-19 directives.
The idle and disorderly lot was found scattered in various parts of the Kampala Metropolitan policing area, boozing in bars, walking, operating shops, and dealing in narcotics past the curfew time.
The Joint Security Task Force- JTF in an operation manned by Kampala Police commander, Commissioner of Police Moses Kafeero managed to capture the group.
They are being investigated for being in possession of narcotics, disobedience of lawful orders, and doing a negligent act likely to cause an infection of disease.

Police also recovered exhibits from some of them like narcotic drugs, alcohol among others.
Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Police Spokesperson, security was prompted to act after realizing increased laxity and violation of COVID-19 guidelines.
He says they were picked up from Nakulabye, Kasubi, Namungona, Kawempe, Maganjo, Nansana, Masitowa, Lubigi, Kisasi, Kyanja, Mutungo, Banda, Kireka and Kinawataka.
Police are currently processing their files and they will appear in various courts on Monday next week.
