A speeding motorcyclist attempting to escape a police checkpoint at Yesu Amala in Nansana municipality died after he accidentally rammed into a truck.
Police have identified the deceased as Musa Ssempala.
Ssempala met his demise on Monday night while hurrying to meet the lockdown curfew time.
Police reports at the scene indicate that Ssempala who was on a motorcycle Bajaj Boxer UDM O81L hit an Isuzu truck UBA 310H from the back while attempting to dodge the Tyre cutters at the checkpoint.
He was badly injured after his body landed on metallic doors and timber loaded on the truck.
The truck quickly fled the scene as the deceased was being rushed to taken to Kedi Clinic where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The body now lies at the city mortuary in Mulago for postmortem.
The Deputy Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigire, says that the police impounded the truck and arrested two occupants.
The government has on Tuesday 26th May 2020 eased lockdown allowing for private vehicles to move but with only 3 occupants wearing standard Masks.
Also open are general merchandise shops outside malls and arcades, Restaurants, and Hotels.
However all these must operate before the curfew which starts from 7 pm to 6:30am.
