A teenager in Jinja district who shocked residents by hacking a 25-year-old woman on the neck to death has been thrown behind police coolers.
25 yr old Amiina Mutesi was knifed on Wednesday night at Danida Village in Walukuba-Masese Division.
Mutesi had gone to visit her friend Amiina Barbirye when the teenager stormed Barbirye’s home accusing her of flirting with her husband in public.
Amidst a deep heated argument, in the presence of her husband Maurice Otim, the teenage girl pulled out a knife and stabbed Mutesi before fleeing the scene with her husband.
The two left behind a 4-year-old baby.
She was later spotted by area residents who tipped off the police that she was hiding in the bush.
Abby Ngako, the Kiira Region Police spokesperson, says the suspect is in custody at Jinja central police station awaiting prosecution.
Ngako says she has already confessed in her statement to having accidentally stabbed Mutesi when in fact she meant to knife her friend Barbirye for sleeping with her husband in March 2020 when she caught them redhanded and continuing to engage with him..
