There is panic in the Adjumani district after 24 people placed under institutional quarantine at Nyumanzi center in Dzaipi sub-county, run away.

The group that consists of  South Sudanese refugees from Pagirinya refugee settlement fled into the unknown on Monday night.

Police in Adjumani has since started looking for members of the runaway group that is highly feared to transmit the novel virus.

George Bhoka, the Adjumani district health officer police have already identified 2 out of the 24 and transferred them back.

He has also cautioned members of the community not to harbor or entertain these people to avoid the spread of COVID-19.

Adjumani district has to date recorded 12 cases of Covid-19 with 1 recovery.
