Al Ahly 4-3 KCCA
KCCA FC put up a spirited fight against Egyptian giants in Alexandria as they bowed out of the Africa Champions League group stages.
KCCA FC went into the Egyptian city to attack and indeed the result showed they were a force to reckon with.
Mike Mutebi, the team tactician deployed his team to take the ball to the hosts own half.
At the end of the first half, KCCA FC and Al Ahly were locked with a goal apiece for either side at Borg Al Arab Stadium.
Jackson Nunda headed home in the 39th minute from Kiiza Mustafa’s excellent cross after Qualid Azaro had earlier put the home side ahead in the 29th minute.
Salif Coulibaly restored Al Ahly’s lead at the start of the second half.
Kiiza was at it again for KCCA FC when he whipped in another cross to hand Peter Magambo the opportunity to put his side level in the 54th minute.
KCCA lost ground again when Azaro returned to haunt them with a 62nd minute goal to out his side ahead.
Salah Mohsen made it beyond reach for KCCA in the 69th minute when he buried home Al Ahly’s fourth.
Mutebi did not lose hope and continued to press. The KCCA tactician withdrew Patrick Kaddu and in his place deployed Isaac Kirabira. He also pulled out Sadam Juma and had Muzamir Mutyaba take his place.
The changes saw KCCA breathe some life into the game and were gifted with a goal from teenage striker Allan Okello who thumped in from a distant in the 81st minute.
KCCA FC return home heads high ahead of the big league kick off. They will surely challenge for top honours with the current squad.
