Music and Events promoter Andrew Mukasa ,commonly known as Bajjo must be cursing the gods in his tearful moment after court today further remanded him to Luzira prison for another week until 5th/July when a ruling on his bail application will be made.

This is after trial magistrate Stellah Ambilisi informed Bajjo and his lawyer Erias Lukwago that she needs ample time to study submissions raised by both him and the DPP before making a ruling on his bail request.

Lukwago however informed court that his client has no capacity to interfere with prosecution’s only witness-president ; Museveni and therefore his constitutional right to bail should be considered.

Bajjo was remanded to Luzira a week ago on charges of inciting violence and offensive communication against the person of President Yoweri Museveni.

Today, Bajjo however, pleaded not guilty to the offenses after court secured a fluent Luganda interpreter to read for him the charges since he had earlier claimed not to have understood.

His lawyer Lukwago presented three sureties including his fellow events promoter Abbey Musinguzi aka Abitex, TV personality Aloysius Matovu Kiiza and DP’s Moses Bigirwa.

Bajjo, who was arrested on 15th June is charged with offensive communication in with intent to disturb the peace and privacy of president Museveni when he recorded a video using his mobile phone containing messages threatening to overthrow the government before the 2021 elections.

He is also said to have incited the public to do rise up in violence against the president in this very month of June while at different places within Kampala, Masaka , Ibanda and Mbarara districts.
