MultiChoice Uganda, the home of great Pay TV entertainment in Uganda, has today rewarded 200 customers who took part in the Back to School promo dubbed “Sasanya Amajja” that was launched on 19th December, 2019.
The promo which was intended to reward DStv and GOtv customers who subscribed or reconnect their DStv or GOtv for a period of two months running from December 2019 to 31st January 2020 stood a chance to win cash and scholastic materials.
Colin Asiimwe, Head of Marketing at MultiChoice Uganda while addressing the winners and media revealed that MultiChoice Uganda chose to be involved in the education journey of school going children who are some of their prized viewers because they too influence purchasing decisions of parents.
Asiimwe said that, “The month of January is synonymous with going back to school season for most if not all parents. Our Sasanya Amajja promotion was aimed at giving back to our customers through cash specifically to ease the burden of School Fees or pocket money and for scholastic materials.”
Education is a key aspect in empowering the generations to come, and as the old adage goes, “when you educate a child, you educate a nation,” we believe we shall have empowered our customers economically and socially,” he added.
The PR & Communications Manager at MultiChoice, Joan S. Kizza told guests that the response to the promo was over whelming and surpassed our targeted response. She explained that, “Since the campaign launch on 19th December 2019, we have received over 180,000 entries out of whom, 200 will be rewarded as winners of the promo with Ushs. 100 million, with each individual taking home Ushs. 500,000.
“Over and above the Ush 100 million that we are giving out in prizes, each winner today will be taking home scholastic materials, like notebooks, pencil cases, colours and pencils,” she remarked. “We spent an additional 20 million on these materials, which will be great add ons for our students.”
One of the winners, Tugume Benon a businessman in Kampala said that this reward comes as answered prayer.
“I always subscribe for DStv, especially because of the children and prayed fervently for me to be among the winners of this money,” Tugume exclaimed, adding that, “I want to thank God for this great miracle and MultiChoice for helping us in raising our children through educative programs, and now by making a contribution towards school fees.”
