A joint security team has nabbed 9 suspects involved in the kidnap of 2 –year-old boy.
The task force comprising of the Crime Intelligence C I and Flying Squad Unit–FSU also rescued the boy in the same operation.
Samson Audrey Kakeeto was kidnapped four days ago from his mother’s home at Kirinyabigo in Kawanda in Wakiso District.
Luke Owoyesigyire, says a joint team successfully landed on the kidnapper’s hideout at Kidokolo village in Kawempe Division in Kampala.
Kakeeto’s mother said unknown people kidnapped her son that she had left playing outside in the compound while she was occupied with house chores inside.
They later received a call from a stranger demanding Shillings4 million as ransom.
Flying Squad and Crime Intelligence immediately started tracking the phone signals as the mother engaged the kidnapper.
They arrested John Okello who had hidden Kakeeto in his mother’s house. The officers also picked up eight other suspects who were found near the house including Okello’s mother who has since been identified as Florence Aciro.
