IUIU lost their match day one fixture to UCU at Mukono but subsequently beat Kumi University at home in Mbale to get their campaign back on track. They are now looking to get maximum points from their game with KIU to possibly go top of the table depending on how results go elsewhere.

“Although we did not do well in our first game we recovered and won our second game and hopefully we shall also win and possibly go top of the table,” IUIU coach Kebba Harunah said.

The two teams have met twice before in the 2018 group stage with IUIU winning both games home and away.

However KIU coach Akabway Geoffrey is not ficussed on this but on the need to win to keep pace with table leaders UCU.

“Our focus is not on avenging our losses of 2018 but on winning. This is a very tight group we are in and we need to win to keep pace with UCU if we are to qualify for the knockout stage,” Akabway said.
