Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk commented on Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang while selecting his dream five-a-side team, but Jamie Carragher was not quite so impressed.

Virgil Van Dijk has described Arsenal pair Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette as “fantastic” naming the former in his dream five-a-side.

Van Dijk, whonwaa unable to name any of his Liverpool team-mates, was selecting his perfect line-up when he made the comment about the duo.

Aubameyang has scored 20 goals in 32 appearances for the Gunners so far this season, but his impressive form has seen him linked with a move away this summer.

While Lacazette, who has made 26 appearances in all competitions for Mikel Arteta’s side this season, and has scored just nine times in all competitions.

But the Frenchman’s form was beginning to improve before football was brought to a standstill due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Van Dijk picked Manchester City pair Ederson and Aymeric Laporte in goal and defence, respectively.

Another City star in Kevin De Bruyne, and Spurs’ Son Heung-min, made upnthe midfield, while Aubameyang was given the nod up top in the Dutchman’s dream five-a-side team.

The Liverpool defender’s opinion was not shared by Reds legend Jamie Carragher, who was explained why he left Aubameyang out of his Premier League team of the season.
