A fleeing Ugandan from East Africa’s hot spot Tanzania has tested positive.
The ministry of health has confirmed a Covid-19 case of a Ugandan male from Rakai District who sneaked in through a porous Bukoba border. He is from the community of 562 tested by the ministry.
The confirmed Covid-19 cases in Uganda are now 88.
According to the director of health services Dr. Joseph Okware: “The Ugandan male entered Uganda from Bukoba, Tanzania via a porous border.”
Dr. Okware revealed: “He is currently staying at home with his parents. Efforts to evacuate him to Masaka Referral Hospital and quarantine his parents, are underway.”
He also confirmed that two truck drivers among 1,922 samples of truck drivers tested.
Dr. Okware said the pair are; a Kenyan and 1 Burundian who arrived via Malaba.
He added that efforts to track them, are underway.
