Manchester United fans have urged the club not to consider a move for RB Leipzig star Timo Werner after reports claimed the forward was waiting for an offer from Liverpool.

Werner was expected to leave the Bundesliga side last year but a switch to Bayernmunich collapsed at the last minute. The forward penned a new contract instead but the deal is believed to contain a release clause that could see him depart one year on from putting pen to paper.

The German international has been heavily links with a switch to Anfield and has publicly declared his interest in working with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp in recent weeks.

Werner has scored 21 goals in 25 Bundesliga appearances this season and the Reds have been in contact with the player’s agent but were told the forward is waiting on an offer from Liverpool.

Therefore, United fan have no interest in signing a player who would seemingly prefer to join their fierce rivals.

RB Leipzig managing director Olivier Mintzlaff recently admitted that Werner could leave in the upcoming window.
