One of Kampala’s top music promoters Balaam Barugahara is set to come to the rescue of students stranded at hostels around various universities by providing food relief to help them cope with restrictions imposed during the coronavirus lockdown.

Through a statement on his social media handles, he expressed sympathy to the affected students and vowed to help them through the Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) in charge of the areas they reside in.

“Our dear Brothers & Sisters stuck in hostels around Banda. Kyambogo and Nakawa through your leadership go Meet our great RDC Anderson in Nakawa he will provide you with some food. Kindly do it before Wednesday morning since the project will be closing in Nakawa Division !. Kindly move with your Id and follow the Ministry of Health guidelines. Muk hostels students visit Kawempe RDC Master Hood for assistance as well through your leaders. Kasanga, Kabalagala visit RDC Makindye for help,” Balaam said.

He has continuously fought to help out various people during the lockdown, for example, he recently obtained food donations for various bloggers who have found it hard to survive during the lockdown.

According to one of the leading University news outlets Campus Cama number of students, both national and international have been stuck at their hostels and not been able to return home due to a ban on public transport and the use of private vehicles in a bid to slow down the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
