Opposition FDC leader Dr Kizza Besigye has colorfully dressed the football journey of Jimmy Kirunda (pic above by Observer) as one of an ‘all-time-star’.

The Uganda Cranes legend passed on in Kampala after collapsing while walking at the outskirts of Bwaise.

Dr. Besigye hailed the star who played for SC Villa and the national team, that reached the finals in Acra, Ghana

He took to his Twitter account to write: “Adios all-time-Star Jimmy Kirunda! You’ve left an indelible mark on Uganda’s Football (Soccer).”

Dr. Besigye described the former star Uganda Cranes captain: “Those who didn’t watch Uganda’s team of mid-late 70s can’t know how great you were; with Omondi, Mike Kiganda, Nsereko, Dennis Obua, Polly Ouma, Paul Ssali…”
