Due to the coronavirus pandemic, am sports activities in Uganda have been on hold since 18th March 2020, following the government’s directives Aime at curbing down the spread of the disease.

The lockdown greatly affected all sports activities in Uganda.

It should be noted that all Masaza activities, including registration of players, were to be held between April and May, and the tournament was set to kick off in June.

However, the Masaza cup tournament chairperson Sulaiman Ssejjengo is optimistic that the tournament will be held in line with thr government’s guidelines.

Ssejjengo through a phone-call confirmed that the tournament will be held later in June or July, depending on the additional directives from the government.

“We are still waiting for the final guidelines from government to take further steps. If the transport ban is lifted on 4th June, definitely there will he flexibility in movement,” Ssejjengo noted.

Bulemeezi will host the opener before His majesty Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi with their opponent set to be declared after grouping.

Bulemeezi are the defending champions of the Masaza Cup, after a 1-0 win against Busiro in last year’s final to register their second trophy in history.
