The Minister of Health Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng has advised the public to act more cautiously as the number of COVID-19 in Uganda Cases nears the 1000 mark.

Acheng was speaking after the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 902.

This follows 9 samples that tested positive yesterday. All of the confirmed cases are Ugandans.

Seven of the confirmed cases are contacts who were picked from Amuru 2 and Tororo 5, while the other cases were of two truck drivers from the Malaba point of entry.

Dr. Aceng said as the country registers more cases in communities, it is important that people take the necessary precautions like washing their hands and wearing a mask to protect themselves.

The confirmed cases are part of the 1,958 samples that were tested yesterday.

Uganda currently has 188 including active cases,847 recoveries and 0 deaths.
