The ministry of health is on Thursday 30 July 2020 expected to deliver a status update report on the COVID -19 pandemic.

Health Minister Dr. Jane Aceng will update the nation on the COVID-19 Response in Uganda in a live broadcast that will be aired live on UBC and channeled to other media houses.

The spokesperson ministry of health Emmanuel Ainebyoona, says the address will shade more light on the current state of the pandemic and how the government is addressing it.

This comes as Uganda has confirmed 2 Deaths from the Virus and samples of the 3rd COVID-19 suspect have been taken to the Uganda virus institute UVI for necessary tests.

Among the deceased include a 34-year-old Woman from Namisindwa district who succumbed at Joy Hospice in Mbale City last week and an 80-year-old female who passed on at Mengo Hospital,

Namisindwa district also has another COVID-19 suspected death of a 27-year-old male who died on Wednesday after being bedridden.

There was also a wave of panic at the National Resistance Movement Secretariat (NRM) on Wednesday after 2 staff members confirmed to have tested positive for COVID-19 were hospitalized.

The previous day, while being nominated at the NRM secretariat in Kyadondo, President Museveni disclosed how he panicked and tested for COVID -19 on Sunday morning after waking up with a sore throat that led to the loss of his voice for hours.

Currently, Uganda has 1,140 cumulative confirmed COVID-19 cases.
