The grieving family to a 12-year old boy who was kidnapped and hacked to death by unknown assailants in Kisoro district want police to speed up investigations into circumstances surrounding his death.

The deceased Godfrey Duhibanze reportedly went missing on Saturday at 7:30 pm and his cold lifeless body was discovered with multiple stabs in a pool of blood by locals in a garden at Nshora village on Sunday.

Police have so far netted 3 suspects including Robert Nkurunziza, 50, Molly Kampire, 39, and Pamela Nyirarukundo, 22 in connection to the brutal killing and they are currently detained at police cells as investigations continue.

This comes after Duhibanze’s father, Vanansi Muperu, 43, a resident of Nyarusiza sub-county, recorded a statement at the Police post pinning the 3 to the killing of his beloved Son.

The 3 suspects all from the same family are the apparent owners of the garden where the body was found.

Kigezi regional Police spokesperson Elly Maate says they are treating this case as murder because the deceased’s body was found with injuries that clearly indicates that he was mugged to death.

Maate says police is currently questioning the suspects to aid in the investigations before necessary action can be taken.
