On 1st July, Crown Beverages Limited (CBL) virtually launched the FOREVER CONNECTED campaign aimed at supporting Ugandans stay connected to their loved ones following the effects of COVID-19 to the Ugandan consumers. CBL partnered with the telecom giants MTN and Airtel to offer free airtime and MBS in every glass bottle to anyone that buys any Pepsi product bottled in glass (Pepsi, Mirinda, Mountain Dew and Evervess tonic)
The quick and easy mechanic of the promo has seen over 500,000 redemptions in the first two weeks of the campaign. Customers simply check under the crown/ bottle top for the unique code and send a free sms to 7888. No costs are incurred while sending the SMS and the airtime and MBS are immediately get loaded on the customers line.
‘We are very pleased to have reached a milestone of 1 million redemptions in our first month of the promotion. We ensured that our customers redeem their prize free of any other costs. But most importantly, we completely eliminated the element of chance, everyone glass bottle of Pepsi, Mirinda, Mountain Dew and Evervess has a winning prize under the crown making everyone a winner.’ CBL’s Acting Head of Marketing Timothy Luzinda, stated.
The partnership with telecoms, MTN and Airtel allows customers who sms the unique code code two minutes airtime and 5mbs valid for 72 hours when they redeem on an MTN line and one minute airtime valid for 24 hours when they redeem on an airtel line.
Forever Connected campaign is a UGX 9 Billion investment that will ran for a period of 12 months, CBL’ s partnership is exclusively for MTN and Airtel users.
