The National Unity Platform-NUP has declined to divulge any details following a high profile meeting that happened on Wednesday between them and a delegation of Ambassadors from the European Union.

The EU team led by the Head of the EU Delegation to Uganda Ambassador Attilio Pacific engaged in a 4-hour closed-door meeting with the NUP/People power secretariat at their Kamwokya based head office.

The NUP party spokesperson Joel Ssenyonnyi managed to post pictures that he shared on his social media platforms attracting a lot of curiosity.

His Facebook post reads; the European Union head of delegation in Uganda, plus the ambassadors of France, Netherlands, Hungary, Austria, Sweden, Ireland, and Denmark paid a courtesy call on the NUP party leadership at our offices in Kamwokya. We had a fruitful discussion and a good exchange of ideas. Ssenyonyi said.

Ssenyonnyi only revealed that the meeting focused on the goals of NUP ahead of the 2021 polls and to the EU as a strong pillar in supporting and funding of Uganda’s policies and economy.

He also indicated that meant that NUP is among the legitimate parties playing a key role in the political arena of Uganda.

Ssenyonyi went on to state that this meeting only comes as a shock to the public but not the NUP as they have interfaced has already been engaging with the people power the EU Delegation, before it became a political party.
