Newly promoted Uganda Premier League side UPDF has appointed Kefa Kisala as the headcoach and has signed a contract of two years with the club.

Kefa Kisala has replaced Steven Bogere who helped the club return back to the Uganda Premier League. He has previously worked with Bul fc, URA fc, Express Fc and Wakiso Giants.

Of recent, UPDF has been a busy side in transfer market after acquiring new players like Ronnie Kisekka, Ibrahim Wamannah, Simon Mbaziira, Gaddafi Gadinho, James Begesa among others.

UPDF gained promotion from a boardroom decision after leading Rwenzori group with 23 points from 11 games when the FUFA Big League season ended prematurely due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.

The former Uganda Cranes star player who also had wonderful football at Express fc and KCCA fc has also been wanted by the Mwererwe side (Bright Stars).

Goalkeeper  Douglas Kisembo and defender Andrew Waisswa renewed their respective contracts with the club.
