The Police in Mubende is investigating a greedy father for reportedly sacrificing his 10-year-old child using rituals to get wealthy.
Angered area residents allege that deceased 10-year-old Sharon Nantume a resident of Nabikakala village in Mubende Municipality was beheaded by her wicked father who constantly kept saying he had secured a precious charm for minting money.
Evil Charles Nyanzi was netted alongside 3 of his accomplices involved in the same crime including; Diana Tugabiirwe his fiancee, Sserukeera Deo a traditional herbalist, and his wife Nabukeera Margaret.
The bitter residents even threatened to lynch the Nyanzi
Wamala Regional Police spokesperson Rachael Kawala says that all the suspects have been detained at Mubende police station as investigations continue.
She warned locals against participating in ritual sacrifices, acts that are both inhuman and illegal in Uganda.
In the past decade, the sacrifice of children in Uganda has been cited by the media, police and Government of Uganda as a major child protection concern.
Police records continue to highlight numerous cases of child sacrifice in the country.
