A vicious fire has on Monday morning broken out at a mattress factory destroying Property worth billions of shillings.
Vita Foam mattress factory in Njeru Municipality, Buikwe District mysteriously caught fire at about 9:30 am from one section before spreading like a wildfire across the whole factory.
Workers who witnessed the fire say it happened so fast and ravaging mattresses, foam, and almost all technical equipment.
Ssezibwa Regional Police Spokesperson Hellen Butoto, says Police are yet to establish the exact cause of the fire although both the police fire brigade and Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) arrived on time and have been able to contain the fire.
Sajjsh Varma, the manager of Vita Foam expressed dismay at the unfortunate event saying property worth an unspecified amount of millions in shillings was ravaged.
