The Democratic Party has launched a campaign pleading with its departed party members to return.

The campaign code-named ‘Komawo eka’ was initiated today during a presser at the DP party headquarters in Balintuma Road, Mengo, Kampala.

The party spokesperson Okoler Opio says their door is wide open to embrace them saying as DP, they have valid information indicating that their former members are being mistreated in the respective parties they converted to.

Opio says DP is mindful of the value that their former members’ poses because they have been groomed for long under the party and will be positioned accordingly once they return home

He says DP cannot look on as powerful Women and Men formerly under their arms are denied leverage and opportunity to shine as before.

A month ago on August 13th, DP lost the largest batch of influential members to the controversial National Unity Platform-NUP.

The members who crossed over accused the Dp party leadership failing to agree with them on so many issues.

Among them include ;Medard Sseggona, Betty Nambooze, Moses Kasibante, Mathias Mpuuga, Muwanga Kivumbi, Kenneth Paul Kakande, Kigozi Ssajjalabene, Matia Lwanga Bwanika, Mike Mabikke, Allan Ssewanyana and Samuel Walter Lubega Mukaku.

This happened shortly after the lord-mayor Erias Lukwago crossed over to the FDC party.
